Willis McAleese, owner of Lost River Boatworks, builds handmade river boats with the "stitch and glue" process with the highest quality materials. The sticth and glue process uses epoxy to make a bond, This is the glue. The stitch is the wire which is "stitched" between two pieces of wood. These are removed after the epoxy settles at the appropriate time. The stich and glue process allows Lost River Boatworks to have the lightest boats around. And they are also the most beautiful craft on the river. After you see one in person on a river you will know why Martin Litton, the famed Grand Canyon Dory pioneer, said "It's simple. rafts are ugly. dories are beautiful."
