Sandy Bird

Sandy primarily works in the MFRE Warehouse but is also a river guide as well, and you may just find her rowing you down the river instead of her duties in the MFRE warehouse. Sandy is an Idaho native who has lived all over the world but keeps coming back to Idaho for the silence and the amazing wilderness. She started working at Redfish Lake Lodge near Stanley in 2013 where she quickly and easily fell in love with the people, mountains, lakes, and rivers of central Idaho. In the winters she is traveling and exploring all over this beautiful planet. Of all the amazing and beautiful places she’s been, the Middle Fork and Main Salmon tops them all. While taking a WFR class she started wondering what exactly was around her and what could she use if something were to happen. She started to ask the question “What did the Natives use and why?” So she decided to go to school for Holistic Herbalism. She graduated in December 2018 in Portland at Vital Ways and absolutely loves plants and making medicine with them. She has started her own business making products and am working towards growing and harvesting all of her own medicine. Sandy is one of the most positive people you will ever meet and she always has a big smile on her face. We are lucky to have her part of the MFRE family.
