We wish you a very Happy Summer Solstice, this longest day of the year. We hope the longest day of the year brings along some sunshine to Stanley as it has been a cold “La Nina” summer so far, with cooler than normal temperatures. This has helped the snowpack not melt so fast and we are having great water levels over 6 ft. for last 3-4 weeks. We have a June 29 launch with a couple spots available.
We hope to see you on the Middle Fork or Main Salmon Rivers this summer.
See you in Stanley!

We feel truly thankful for the abundant simple pleasures that offer themselves up every day, just for the taking. A perfect cup of coffee. Good music. A walk outside. A child’s hug. Birds at the feeder. Holding hands. A patch of sun and time to sit in it. A random act of kindness, given or received.
We are also deeply thankful for you, our travelers and friends. You inspire us every day with your openness to new experience, your curiosity about the world, your good spirits, and ultimately your wit and wisdom. Thank you so much for letting us share your journey.
With much appreciation, we wish you a very happy Thanksgiving!

Middle Fork Outfitters Association is an association for Middle Fork of the Salmon River Outfitters. The Middle Fork Outfitters Association helps build a cohesive group of outfitters for a single message from our industry as it is located in central Idaho in the Frank Church Wilderness of No Return. The Middle Fork Outfitters Association was started a few years ago with like minded outfitters coming together and making the protection of outfitting on the Middle Fork Salmon River a priority for the group. Middle Fork Outfitters Association members vary in personality but are united in protecting this american treasure. The Middle Fork Outfitters Association members are commited to it’s protection. All Middle Fork Outfitters Association members run high quality trips on the Middle Fork of the Salmon River.
We hope the efforts of the Middle Fork Outfitters Association will inspire the outfitters on other rivers to create an association for their benefit and one voice. The Main Salmon is a perfect example. They could create the Main Salmon Outfitters Association and have dates up on their homepage of all teh launches in which outfitters offer. One one-stop shop for dates on the Main Salmon. The Middle Fork Outfitters Association can inspire other river outfitters to do the same. Not just in Idaho, but the entire nation.
The Middle Fork Outfitters Association is a great resource and anyone interested in taking a multi river trip should contact the site. The more people know about the Middle Fork Outfitters Association the better

Cooking Wild Alaskan Salmon on the fire on the Middle Fork of the Salmon River is the way to go. We marinate in Olive Oil, Soy, Rive Vinegar and Garlic and cook them by laying them down on their skin. After 2-3 minutes, flip them over on to the same skin for another 2-3 minutes.
Yum!
We had a GRAND time on the Middle Fork with the Rangers June 2-6, 2012. I picked them up in Boise and flew to Bruce Meadows and drove tot eh put-in point at Boundary Creek. The trip was organized by Connal Cochrane who led the group to Boise from europe. Jorg Albertz and his brother Dirk also joined the group. Jorg “The Hammer” Albertz is famous in europe and ecspecially with Rangers fans, where he played for many years. A group of four friends from Glascow raised $80,000 for the Rangers Charitable Foundation which gives money to Unicef etc. The were Roy and Gordy (Brothers), Anton and Graham. Amazing fellows and such enthusiasm all nights were filled with Ranger Songs.
They loved the hike to Veil falls the last morning. We were silent on the hike and they really took in the beauty of the place. it brought tears to a few members of the group and Gordy said he wanted to get married there.
We are planning another date next june with the Rangers, so look out for information on the Rangers website.
Below is a photo at Cache Bar (take-out) on the last day of the trip.

Amazing trip for charity last week on the Middle Fork of the Salmon River with the Rangers from Glascow. They raised some good money for charity and the Hammer, Jorg Ernst joined the trip as well and we all had a blast singing and dancing around fire. Wow, we wish we could have scots all summer long. Super high water above 6ft. and awesome. Thanks Connal Cochrane for helping put together the trip and it was the Second Annual trip.
Last summer we took down Walter Smith and Ally McCoist down the Main Salmon River in Idaho
We are already set for getting some dates for next summer in 2013 on the Middle Fork of the Salmon River. We hope to post some photos from the trip.
Best, Ellsworth
